League Rules FAQ

What can I do if I disagree with a rule?
Join another league. JK!
Just like any sports league, the rules are designed for participation, fairness and to enjoy the sport. If there is something that does not meet these goals, we'd like to hear from you. You can simply send us an email. We will review your  suggestions and provide a response. The MilSim Corps replies to all inquiries.

MilSim Corps™ Paintball League

League Rules - Revision: 1/1/2011

Section 1: Playing Season
1. The Regular Season is January to September

2. The Regional Championships are in October

3. The National Championships are in November

4. The MilSim World War is every two years in January

 

Section 2: Mission Day Format
1. Two teams will play three games as follows:

                a. Game 1: (Blue Mission): Blue Team is Mission Team, Gold Team is Patrol Team

                b. Game 2: (Gold Mission): Gold Team is Mission Team, Blue Team is Patrol Team

                c. Game 3: (Ambush): Blue Team versus Gold Team

 

2. Team Objectives:
                a. Mission Team is assigned to complete the Mission objectives
                b. Patrol Team is assigned to stop the Mission Team from completing the Mission 
                    objectives

                c. Ambush Teams are assigned to rescue the dummy


Section 3: Game Time Limit
1. Special Forces Division

               a. Mission games are 30 minutes; Ambush games are 20 minutes

2. Task Forces Division

               a. Mission games are 20 minutes; Ambush games are 15 minutes

 

Section 4: Team Size
1. Special Forces Division

                a. A team shall have five (5) to seven (7) players on the field

                b. At least five (5) players must be Official League Members with Member IDs

                c. A team may play with up to two (2) non-league members

                d. If playing with less than seven (7) players, the team selects which roles will be used

2. Task Forces Division

                a. A team shall have three (3) players on the field

                b. At least two (2) players must be Official League Members with Member IDs

                c. A team may play with one (1) non-league member

3. Championships

                a. All players participating in a Championship game are required to have valid league 
                    memberships

                b. Championship games are Regionals, Nationals and Worlds

 

Section 5: Team Starting Positions

1. The Mission Team players shall at the Reinforcements Box

2. The Patrol Team players may take positions anywhere in the field, no closer than 50 meters to
     the Reinforcements Box

3. Once the game starts, Patrol Team players may not position closer than 30 meters to the
    Reinforcements Box

 

Section 6: Player Roles

1. Special Forces Divisions will use the following roles: Leader, Recon, Sniper, Demo, Artillery,
    Medic, Gunner

2. Task Forces Division will use the following roles: Leader, Medic, Gunner

 

Section 7: Objectives

1. Main objective:

                a. any player may complete the objective

                b. must be completed by the end of the game to be awarded points

                c. completed per the Mission orders for that Mission

2. Sniper objective:

                a. may only be completed by the Sniper role

                b. must be completed within 20 minutes to be awarded points

                c. completed by shooting the Guard on the Patrol Team

d. any player can shoot the Guard but points are only awarded if the Sniper shoots the Guard

                e. the Sniper role player on the Patrol Team is designated the Guard

                 f. the Guard must remain at the Guard Post for the first 20 minutes of the game

                g. the Guard Post shall be located 20 meters from the Demolition objective

                h. the Guard Post shall be a one sided bunker 4’ x 4’ (1.25 m x 1.25m)

2. Recon objective:

                a. may only be completed by the Recon role

                b. must be completed within 20 minutes to be awarded points

                c. completed by locating the Recon Sign and reading the Mission Codes via radio to an
                    Official

4. Demolition objective:

                a. may only be completed by the Demolition role

                b. must be completed within 20 minutes to be awarded points

                c. completed by detonating a paint mine so that paint marks the Demolition Sign

5. Artillery objective:

                a. may only be completed by the Artillery role

                b. must be completed within 20 minutes to be awarded points

                c. completed by using a rocket launcher to shoot a rocket at the designated target area

6. Ambush objective:

                a. Obtain and maintain possession of the dummy

 

Section 8: Points System

1. Points are awarded for each objective:

                a. Main: 18 Points

                b. Recon: 6 Points

                c. Sniper: 6 Points

                d. Demolition: 6 Points

                e. Artillery: 6 Points

2. Points are awarded to the Mission Team based on objectives completed by the Mission Team.

3. Points are awarded to the Patrol Team based on objectives not completed by the Mission Team.

4. Ambush

                a. Points are awarded based on the team that has possession of the dummy:

1. Mid-Game (10 minute mark for Special Forces and Task Forces)

                a. Team with Possession: 6 points

                b. No Team with Possession: 3 points to each team

                                2. End of Game

                                                a. Team with Possession: 10 points

                                                b. No Team with Possession: 5 points to each team


Section 9: Team Rankings
1. Teams are ranked by the highest score

2. Teams with the same score are then ranked by the most games won

3. Teams with the same number of games won are then ranked by the most objectives completed

4. Teams with the same number of objectives completed are then ranked by the most eliminations

 

Section 10: Championships Qualification

1. Regional Championships

                a. All teams that play at least one (1) Mission at their home field qualify for the Regional
                    Championships

                                1. Teams will play a series of Elimination Rounds to determine the Regional
                                     winner

                                2. Teams are placed in Elimination Rounds based on their Regular Season
                                     record
                                3. The highest four (4) Mission scores will be used to rank teams for the Regional 
                                    Championships

2. National Championships

                a. The Regional Winner and Runner-Up teams qualify for the National Championships

3. World Championships

a. The National Winner and Runner-Up teams for two years qualify for the World  
    Championships

 

Section 11: Replaying Missions

1. A team may replay any Mission

2. The team’s top score for a Mission is used to rank the team in the standings and the lower score is not counted

3. Every game a player plays is counted and added to their individual statistics

 

Section 12: Elimination

1. Paintball

                a. A paintball must break on the player or any gear the player is wearing

                b. Gun hits do not count as eliminating a player

                c. A player may be bandaged if shot with a paintball

2. Paint Grenade

                a. If a paint grenade marks a player, the player is eliminated

b. If a paint grenade is detonated in a structure, all players inside the structure are eliminated; players do not need to be marked by the paint grenade when detonated in a structure to eliminate the players

d. A player may not be bandaged if eliminated by a paint grenade

3. Paint Mines

a. If a player detonates a paint mine, the player is eliminated; the player does not need to be marked by the paint mine to be eliminated

                b. A player may not be bandaged if eliminated by a paint mine

4. Rocket Launchers

a. If a rocket hits a structure or natural bunker on the outside or inside, all players, in or behind the structure or natural bunker, are eliminated

                b. A player may not be bandaged if eliminated by a rocket

 

Section 13: Bandaging a Player

1. The Medic for the Mission Team shall be issued three (3) Bandage Armbands.

2. A Medic is the only player that may use Bandage Armbands to bandage players.

3. Medics may place a Bandage Armband on themselves.

4. If a player is shot, the player may choose to call for a Medic

5. The player must take immediate cover within 5 meters

6. The player may not shoot a marker, throw paint or smoke grenades, detonate paint mines, or 
    shoot rocket launchers

7. The player may not communicate with the team beyond calling for a Medic

8. The Medic shall wipe off the paint mark and place a Bandage Armband on the player's Right Arm

9. Once the Bandage is on the player, the player may resume normal game participation with no
     restrictions

10. Only one Bandage Armband may be placed on a player

11. If a player wearing a Bandage Armband is shot, the player is eliminated

 

Section 14: Role Armbands

1. Each player shall be issued an Official MilSim Corps Armband prior to starting a game

2. Players shall remain the same role for all three games of the Mission set

3. Role Armbands are worn on the Left Arm

4. No player shall remove an Armband unless eliminated

 

Section 15: Reinforcements

1. The Patrol Team does not have any Reinforcement Armbands; one elimination per Patrol Team
     player

2. The Mission Team shall have 1 Reinforcement Armband for each role

3. The Reinforcement Armbands shall be placed in the Reinforcements Box

4. Mission Team players shall use the same role and color Armband issued at the start of the
    game to reenter as Reinforcement

5. No player may move, cover or hide the Reinforcements Box during game play

6. For the Ambush game, the players will use Hot Reinsertions

7. Hot Reinsertions:

                a. Players wear both armbands at the start of the game

                b. When shot, the player shall move from their position and give one armband to an Official

c. The Official will direct the player to a nearby location to reinsert in the game

 

Section 16: Firing Mode

1. The firing mode for markers are semi-automatic

2. No burst, no ramping, no response

3. One (1) trigger pull – one (1) shot

 

Section 17: Ammunition

1. Special Forces Division:

                a. All roles, except for Gunner role, are limited to three (3) pods of 140 rounds (420 rounds
                    total)

                b. Gunner role is allowed to carry six (6) pods of 140 rounds (840 rounds total)

2. Task Forces Division:

                a. All players are limited to 200 rounds

 

Section 18: Special Weapons

1. Paint Grenades

                a. Limit one paint grenade per player per game

                b. Players may share paint grenades

2. Smoke Grenades

                a. Limit one smoke grenade per player per game

                b. Players may share smoke grenades

3. Paint Mines

a. Mission Team

                1. One (1) paint mine to complete the Demolition objective; any method of  
                    detonation

b. Patrol Team

                1. Up to two (2) paint mines to defend objectives; any method of detonation

4. Rocket Launchers

                a. Mission Team

                                1. One (1) Rocket Launcher to complete the Artillery objective

                                2. There is a five (5) rocket limit

                b. Patrol Team

                                1. One (1) Rocket launcher to defend objectives

                                2. There is a five (5) rocket limit

 

Section 19: Official Patches

1. Name Patch – worn on right chest

2. Rank Patch – worn on left arm

3. Specialist Patch – worn on right chest above Name Patch

4. Battle Ribbons – worn on left chest

 

Section 20: Official Patch Requirements
1. Regular Season
                a. Players are not required to wear Official Patches
2. Regional and National Championships
                a. Players are required to wear Name Patch, Rank Patch and Operation Patch

3. World Championships

                a. Players are required to wear a Country Flag Patch on the right shoulder

4. Players without Official Patches shall not be allowed to play in the Championship games

 

Section 21: Player Substitution

1. A MilSim Corps™ Mercenary may play on any team in any game as requested by a team to meet 
    the required number of Official League Members to participate in a Mission or Championships

2. A team may substitute one player per game with a MilSim Corps™ Mercenary


Section 22: Team Disqualification (Mission Abort)
1. A team will receive a zero (0) for each game played without the minimum number of Official
    League Members

2. A team may not replay the Mission

Section 23: Cheating
1. A player is considered cheating for the following:

a. When eliminated, the player does not exit the game or does not call for a Medic

                b. A player removes a Role or Bandage Armband while an active player in the game

c. A player uses a different Role Armband than the role assigned to the player

                d. A player communicates with teammates after being eliminated

                e. A player adjusts the marker to exceed the chronograph limit set by the field

                f.  A player carries more ammunition or special weapons than is allowed by the rules

                g. A player moves the Reinforcements Box during the game

                h. A player moves or hides an Objective Sign

2. The Official has the final decision on a cheating incident

3. The Official shall submit a Player Cheating Form within 5 days of the cheating incident

Section 24: Consequences of Cheating

1. If a player is called cheating by an Official, the player shall leave the game immediately 
    and the following:

a. First Offense: The player is suspended for that Mission Day
b. Second Offense in the same season: The player is suspended for the next Mission Day
c. Third Offense in the same season: The player is suspended for the rest of the season

2. The player may join the following season pending a formal review by the Commissioner


Section 25: Disputes/Actions not covered

1. Any disputes or actions not covered by the League Rules are settled at the discretion of the
    Official

2. The League shall not dispute any action taken by the Official regarding disputes or actions not 
    covered
